My Story

Hi, my name is Alba Maximilian Altmann, but please just call me Max. I’m a Realtor® with eXp Realty and am located in Burbank, CA. I grew up in West Hollywood, went to college in Riverside, and have been living in Southern California my entire life. In college I decided that I wanted to work with children with disabilities and did so in various capacities until late 2020. I even got a master’s degree in a sub-discipline of psychology called applied behavior analysis (a primary therapy for children with autism) and became certified in it. In 2020 my wife and I had our first child and in 2021 we bought our first house. Having a child of my own (and now two more) made me realize that I wanted to work for myself and be in control of my own time so that I could be as efficient with it as possible. Going through the process of buying a home made me realize that I wanted to work for myself as a Realtor®. I was also drawn to the real estate industry because of my deep interest in it and because real estate/construction played significant roles in my childhood. My mother was an art teacher & part-time Realtor® and my father was an architect & construction supervisor. I still have fond memories of going door knocking with my mom and being on job sites with my dad.

Why Create Highly Ethical Showings?

I believe that a large factor in having success as a Realtor® is patience and playing “the long game”. I want to be a Realtor® indefinitely and I don’t want to be in a hurry to make a quick buck. I genuinely enjoy being a Realtor® and helping others, especially as a buyer’s agent. Thus, working as a showing agent for other agents provides me with two things: lots of experience working with buyers (even if they aren’t my own clients) and income to cover my family’s expenses as I slowly but surely build my personal real estate business.

What Does the Name Mean?

I decided to call this business “Highly Ethical Showings” because I believe this name clearly summarizes the values that I stand for and also that the most significant way a showing agent can serve their clients (other agents) is by being ethical. The most obvious example of being ethical as a showing agent is not poaching another agent’s clients. Being ethical also means that I’ll always do everything by the book and do everything in my power to never embarrass you since I know that my actions are a representation of you. I’ll always show up well groomed and easily identifiable by wearing my “Highly Ethical Showings” shirt which has my name on it. I’ll always be professional and will never discuss controversial topics such as politics, etc.

I’ll also strive to provide the best service that I can in exchange for the money that you’re paying me. I’ll take detailed notes about each showing on this form and will email it to you immediately after the showing. I provide an MLS print for each individual or couple who I’m showing a property to. If you’d like, I’m also happy to have a pre-showing debrief phone call, at no additional charge. In addition, I research each property to a reasonable extent in preparation for each showing, so that I can be proficiently knowledgable about it.

The Details

I charge $100 per showing, which reserves a 2.5 hour block of my time for you and your clients. These 2.5 hours include the amount of time that it takes me to drive to the showing and back home and also ensure that I’ll be at the showing and available to your client(s) for about 1 hour. I can commit to being available to your client(s) for about 1 hour because I don’t accept showings that are more than about 45 minutes away from my home near the Burbank Airport. That’s 45 minutes with traffic factored in. Thus, I might accept a showing on the Westside of LA on an early weekend morning, but won’t be able to during rush hour on a weekday. If you’d like me to conduct a showing that’s more than 45 minutes away, you’re welcome to book two concurrent showings, which will entitles you to 5 consecutive hours of my time. Also, if after your first showing with me, you write a review on Yelp you’ll receive one 2.5 hour showing for free.
